WHAT ARE MURAMATSU VINTAGE FLUTES?
- Mar 06, 2016 My C piccolo is a late sixties/early seventies Gemeinhardt 4P. My Db piccolo is a three digit serial number Haynes (wood). While in the Navy, I played on Navy -issued sterling Haynes (C) and Selmer (Db). The Selmer was a terrible instrument, with poor response in all registers and a horrible scale.
- Hammig Piccolo, vintage handmade PHILIPP HAMMIG MARKNEUKIRCHEN grenadilla wood body, silver keys. Hammig serial numbers for 54689. Good condition, original case. See for photos and/or questions.
As an authorized (1988) Muramatsu technician/dealer/lover/fanatic, I prefer those that were made in the 80’s and 90’s (serial numbers up to ca. 55000).
These great Handmade Muramatsu Vintage Flutes have the following significant values:
– Rich- and homogeneous bel-canto sound;
– A never-failing-mechanism & pads that hardly have to be fixed or adjusted!
(Unless not badly mistreated. Primarily by woodwind-repair persons; and/or lazy- quick-profit-focused flute-technicians; and/or other loose cannons);
– Traditional Muramatsu felt pads that last 4-5 times longer than any modern-style; patented; exorbitantly expensive pads! (Such as the various versions of M-pads, Straubinger, Pisoni S2, Gold-pads and others).

Luckily, I still own some Brand-new Vintage EX, GX, DN, SR, PT-P models, and sell them to connoisseurs.
Regretfully, it’s the last stock of Brand-New Vintage Muramatsu Flutes. No Brand-New Vintage Flutes will ever be available anymore, worldwide! (Unless somewhere hidden).

It’s like the Saxophone Selmer mark VI phenomenon, if you are familiar with the history of Selmer. I also buy pre-owned (1), authentically overhaul (2) and sell used Muramatsu Vintage Models so if you have one or want one, please contact.
(1) Only authentically repaired/overhauled in the past or (preferably) never repaired at all.
(2) With the original Muramatsu spare-parts and technique as originally the model was made.
Thank you for your attention!
Yizhar DAGAN.
P.S. In case you have another opinion about the above I fully respect yours, although firmly stand behind mine.

Has anyone ever heard of this music company called Matthew's Music from the Netherlands? They sell professional instruments on eBay for a fairly low price compared to the actual price on the market.
Showbox for mac os. Burkart Piccolos; Other Brands. (serial numbers up to ca. Flute repair flute workshop gold flute Hammig flute handmade flute Haynes flute japanese. This is a slightly used grenadilla wood Philipp Hammig piccolo. 33963, Model 650/2 with split E mechanism. The piccolo has no cracks or chips of any kind and the silver plating on the mechanism is 100% intact. It plays very well in all octaves and has a very clean and warm tone at the same time.
I bought a Miyazawa PB202 from them in January for around $500 off the actual price. At first I was suspicious, but then I assured myself that it was not a scam when I saw how many of their customers were more than satisfied of their online purchases.
My Miyazawa is in the flute shop right now for a dislocated post due to an accidental whack at a moving chair.. The lady at the flute shop asked me if I had bought it in the Netherlands, and had stated that the mechanism was different and that it was not built up to U.S standards. After I had left the flute shop, I jumped on my computer and began emailing Miyazawa's customer service, asking if Matthew's Music was an authorized seller of Miyazawa flutes. I had gotten a reply a day later from Shivhan Dohse in the Marketing & Sales department, stating that Matthew's Music was NOT a representative of Miyazawa, and that any flute purchased from them would not have the company's warranty nor would it be built up to the U.S standards. I had gotten another email just yesterday from Shivhan Dohse again, telling me that a flute from Matthew's Music is not an authentic Miyazawa, and that many things could be wrong with it including a different pitch, headjoint style, different pads (not Straubinger), and the quality of the mechanism.
Could this be true, that I had gotten an unauthentic flute from them?
